History

The school was first started in Baramula, around 1930's by christian missionaries, exact date is not yet known. It is believed that the missonaries came from Scotland and Ireland.

In 1947 British rule came to an end, and the Britishers left the area, dividing it into two different countires, India and Pakistan. This is when the school in Baramula split into two schools, two missionaries started Burn Hall School in a rented building near Polo Grounds in Srinagar, Kashmir. One missionary chose to stay and start St. Joseph's school in Baramula.

Eventually Burn Hall School in Srinagar split into two, one missionary moved to Abbottabad in Pakistan and started the Burn Hall School there in 1947, which is now the Army Burn Hall College. The army Burn Hall College was leased to Pakistan army in 1977.

The only missionary left in Srinagar moved Burn Hall School to Gupkar Road in Srinagar, Kashmir in 1956. The first principal of the school was Father Boerkamp.
